In closing the year 2024 ,the team at Bernika Health DRCongo joined by the Group CEO, conducted a workshop at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Renaissance.

The quintessential hospital, formerly known by various names (Mama Yemo, Hospital General), dates back to 1912. It was also one of the first hospitals in Africa to be involved in research into tropical diseases and the HIV/AIDS epidemic, through the Projet SIDA (Project AIDS in French) between 1984 and 1991. In 2023, the hospital was renamed the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) Renaissance as part of its reform.

This cooperation underlines Bernika Health commitment to working with healthcare institutions to strengthen the healthcare sector in Africa, with a particular focus on the healthcare system and value chain in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Following the workshop and visit, Bernika Health and the team presented the hospital with AED defibrillators, chest drains, medical stethoscopes, examination lights and other medical equipment. By working with organisations such as CHU Renaissance, Bernika Health is using its expertise to support the improvement of primary healthcare services in the DRC, demonstrating its commitment to providing impactful healthcare solutions in the region.

We wish to extend our gratitude to the Doctors ,the Director General at CHU-Renaissance for their welcome and dedication, commitment in leading the hospital to greater heights. The team at Bernika Health was joined by its biomedical engineer and technical team and pharmacist.
